HOW DOES FRACTION LASER WORK?

Fractional Laser ablates microscopic holes in the top layer of the skin.

This produces inflammation and heat within epidermis. Heat then spreads into the dermis and stimulates our fibroblasts. This initialises a wound healing response

As the skin heals itself from the wound, tissue and collagen stimulation will occur helping to improve skin texture, wrinkles, scarring, stretch marks etc.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

Typically you will need around 3-5 sessions.

HOW OFTEN WILL I NEED A SESSION?

You will need a session every 4-6 weeks roughly. You then may need a maintenance top up roughly every 2-3 months.

IS FRACTIONAL LASER PAINFUL?

At The Laser Co we provide a Cryo Cooler with our Fractional Laser treatments to allow for optimum comfort.

You may feel warmth within the skin whilst the treatment is being carried out, however; the Cryo cooler will take that away. The Cryo cooler will be used to blow cold air on the treatment area pre, post & during the treatment.

The Cryo Cooler can reach a maximum temperature of -40 degrees.

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME WITH FRACTIONAL LASER?

The treatment is generally tolerated well, although the skin will feel ‘sunburnt’ post treatment.

There may be a few days to a few weeks down time, depending on the type of area we laser.

The body will require longer down time than the face would need.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS WITH FRACTIONAL LASER?

You will see erythema in the area being treated, which is redness to the skin; this lasts roughly 24 hours to 3 days.

The treatment is generally tolerated well, although the skin will feel ‘sunburnt’ post treatment.

You may experience some swelling in the treated area, this usually resolves within a few days.

From day 2-3, the skin will appear bronzed, feel dry and flaky as the microscopic debris is expelled from the skin.

Yes, we can treat all skin types with our fractional laser.

IS THE PRE/POST AFTERCARE IMPORTANT?
